Propulsion modelling: More efficient ship propulsion through statistical modelling and control.
Model implementationsThis sub-section contains the material that accompanies the articles. The material is split up into two parts, one for the regressional models and one for the dynamical models. The article Statistical Modelling for Ship Propulsion Efficiency is based upon the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Gaussian Processes (GP) code found in the regressional models package. These models are compared, and special interest is given to the importance of the input data. In the article A Machine-Learning Approach to Predict Main Energy Consumption under Realistic Operational Conditions the (ANN) model is studied again, and the regressional models advantages and disadvantages are discussed, and the dynamical model approach is motivated. In this article code is used both from the regressional package and the dynamical package. Return to Top |
