My Professional Life

I received the M.Sc. degree at the Technical University of Denmark in February 1995. Since then I've been a Ph.D. student at the Department of Mathematical Modelling,Section for Digital Signal Processing (former Electronics Institute) with Lars Kai Hansen as supervisor.

The subject of my Ph.D. is "Reconstruction and segmentation of PET images" and I am working with Bayesian reconstruction and Markov Random Fields.

One of my latest projects are "Restoring functional PET Images using Anatomical MR Images" available here. The method is a fully 3D, and can work different resolution in each direction.

On the far left a "normal" MR image. Middle left segmented MR Image. Middle right original PET image. Most far PET image enhanced using MRI generated edges.

One of my other projects are brain segmentation of MR images, segmenting in brain/non-brain. This method is based on 2 MRI scans. Using a double threshold followed by a 3D connectivity search. A technical report is soon finished.

Here are an example of a segmented slice and my developed program.
